MOUNTAIN BABIES

    Mountain Babies are an entity that words are hard to find to describe them. The band consist of Dave Peters featuring Rachael Byrne. A silver tounged, fingerpicking mad man. Then the  angelic voice to compliment him. Although Dave does a majority of instrumentation on stage and in the studio, occassionally you can catch some of the areas best musicians on a track or sitting in on one of his songs live. Most of the time, you will see the beauty and the beast though.
​     Mountain Babies started off as a two piece folk duo of two members from hard rocking, psychedelic bands. Dave and Jeremy Waun. They turned off the amps and picked up the acoustics and the Mountain Babies were born. Eventually miles seperated the two but they still tour and support each others projects.

     Dave returned home to Port Huron from Chicago, looking for a change of pace. With a head full of ideas and songs ready to go, he was randomly contacted by  local engineer Randy Willis. The project got under way but a female voice was needed. Dave already mentioned Racheal and Randy worked with her before. There was no choice It was a perfect fit. She came in for the session and it came to her so naturally and well, the rest is history.

     ''The two had a chemistry that I have never seen before and I knew what was happening next." "The connection and feeling was just there, I just had to hit record and capture those moments." WIllis quoted. Then Dave and Rachael eventually fell in love. 

      Another friend Zac Theodore laid down piano and drum parts and Whispers was recorded at a local studio. Then it was sent back to Chicago to be mastered at DownBeat Studios by the talented Michael Govaere.

    Countless shows, a list of BlueWater Music Awards, videos,  constant networking, miles under their feet and modest success from Whispers and the Age of Snakes Split. They're at it recording again. Teaming up with WIllis again to bring the follow up to Whispers and Age of Snakes, Shouts! Available now!

 

SHOUTS was written between November of 2012 and October of 2013. All songs written by Dave Peters.
It was recorded at S.S. Sounds in Port Huron, MI between September and December of 2013.
All songs were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Randy Willis.
